Third Grade

Third grade is an exciting year, full of transitions and new and "grown-up" learning. There's a wealth of information to be learned here and a variety of ways to learn it. Children in third grade learn through teacher directed lessons, hands-on activities, group work, and memorization when appropriate. This is the year we work on mastering facts and learning to use higher-level thinking skills to make predictions, evaluate, and infer. We're particulary excited about the life science unit we study in Spring as we observe the metamorphosis of butterflies in the classroom. Field trips offer new ways to learn and supplement the classroom lessons. All this and cursive writing, too! Above all, we learn of the love our Savior, Jesus, has for each and every one of us and how to live our lives to honor Him. Stop in and check us out.
