Adult Catechism Class (taught by Pastor Asburry)

In this class of 24 lessons adult catechumens (students of the faith) learn the basic teachings of the Lutheran Church by means of Bible stories, sections from Luther's Small Catechism, and the Church's liturgy. Catechumens learn chiefly to diagnose their problem of sin that separates them from God, then to rejoice in God's rich, boundless mercy revealed in Jesus Christ, and then to live the holy life of faith and good works in the life of the Church. The class is intended for those who seek to join the Lutheran Church, but it can also be good refresher for those who have already been confirmed.

The class meets on Wednesday evenings, 7:45-8:45 p.m. It begins each Fall, just after Labor Day (September), and concludes with Baptism and/or Confirmation at the Easter Vigil Service (the Saturday evening before Easter Sunday). See this year's schedule here.
